Description
Tulips are from the Liliaceae plant family. The name comes from Persian and refers to the physical resemblance of the flowers with a turban. There are about 150 species in North Africa and Europe, as well as Central Asia. Garden tulips were grown from wild tulips and within 400 years, several thousand varieties emerged. Tulips are typical spring flowers and fit well in almost any garden. No wonder, when you consider how many colors and color combinations exist: everyone can find something to his or her liking.The best planting time for tulips is the end of October to the end of November, before the first ground frost. In spring, the tulips come into bloom.
