Description
"Shirina" is a paprika variety that is particularly suitable for outdoor cultivation and bears many block-shaped, red to deep red fruits. It grows up to a height of around 80 cm and continues to produce new fruit until late autumn. On average, each fruit weighs around 120 g. The plant is very sturdy but needs to be supported to produce a full yield. Sowing can start in mid-February with a minimum germination temperature of 20°C.
Tips & care:
- Low fertilisation and watering requirements.
- A protected or sunny and airy outdoor location is preferred.
- Prick out seedlings and repot after the first leaf has formed.
- Pinching off the terminal bud is recommended.
- Fruits begin to ripen in July. The fruits can also be eaten green and processed.
- Supporting the growing plant can be beneficial in windy and nutrient-rich locations.
- Plant at a distance of 40 x 40 cm or in a 10 litre container.
