Description
This fast-growing, reddish-brown oak leaf lettuce produces decorative, delicate leaves. It is very bolt-resistant and provides useful insects such as parasitic wasps and ladybugs places to hide so that they can get rid of aphids.
This easy to grow lettuce has a short growing period of 6-8 weeks. Therefore, it is important to thin out or transplant the plants at an early stage. Lettuce tastes great when it is not fertilised often. If you want to harvest your lettuce every day, you need to replant it regularly.
The lettuce can be planted under glass in February, and outdoors as of the end of March. If you plant some of the plants a bit denser together and harvest them earlier, you can replant them every 3-4 weeks. The young plants should be separated at distances of 35x35 cm. You can harvest the lettuce 2-3 months after sowing. After the harvest, the plants shoot rapidly.
