Description
This green bush bean is thick-fleshed and a high-yield variety. It reaches a length of between 12 and 13 cm with the round pods after just 10 to 11 weeks after sowing and remains tender for a long time. Ideal as a side dish, for preserving, for freezing and as an ingredient in a sweet and sour pickled bean salad.
Note:
- Germination at 15-22 °C.
- Plant in a humus-rich, moist soil in a sunny location.
- Not suitable for pots.
- The beans use up nitrogen from the air due to the presence of nodule bacteria on the roots. Therefore, only a small amount of nutrient addition is necessary. In autumn or early spring, lightly work in well-rotted compost or an appropriate organic product with rock meal into the soil.
- Place the beans in 2-3 cm deep grooves, cover with soil and tamp down well.
- When the beans are 10 cm tall, pile up soil on the stems to increase their stability.
- Beans need a lot of water!
