Kiepenkerl Bush Beans- "Brown Dutch"
Phaseolus vulgaris var. nanus

Description
This historic variety from Holland belongs to the group of dry cooking beans, which has almost died out in use today. That's a shame because the brown beans are very aromatic and incomparably smooth. Particularly, they are suitable for bean soups, hearty stews and as a side dish. The green 12 cm long pods of this late maturing variety are full of nutty-tasting beans. The robust plants are about 50 cm high and are high yielding. They should be well supported by earth.
