Description

This evergreen shrub forms decorative foliage and attractive white brush flowers. It originates from the sub-alpine regions of Australia and is frost-hardy to -20°C.

Tips:

  • Stratify seeds before sowing - place in a plastic bag in the refrigerator for a week
  • Next, let the seeds soak in lukewarm water for two days
  • Light germinators - do not cover the seeds with soil, just press them down lightly into the soil
  • Cover the container with cling film and pole a few holes to let in air and prevent the soil from drying out
  • Remove the cling film for about 2 hours every two to three days to prevent mould growth
  • Place the growing container in a bright and warm place at 20 to 25°C
  • Keep the soil surface moist, but not wet
  • Place in a bright and warm place indoors all year round; from April to September, a sheltered location in full sun outdoors is also acceptable
  • Water generously with low-lime water, but avoid waterlogging (a drainage layer of clay granules in the bottom of the pot is recommended)
  • From April to September, fertilise once a week with potted plant fertiliser
  • In winter, place in a bright and cool place at 10°C or as a houseplant; frost hardy to -20°C from the second year onwards
