Description

This small plant can grow up to 6 metres high. The ornamental tree is appreciated in southern Europe, northern Australia and tropical America due to its countless pink flowers. It flowers from June to September in almost 4 cm long inflorescences at the end of its branches.

The plant originally comes from Central and Eastern Asia. The reddish and resistant wood is also popular and is used for the construction of boats and railway sleepers.
