Tips:

• Zinnias have sensitive roots so sow the seeds in containers that can be planted in the garden along with the seedlings.
• Test before cutting flowers for the vase: Hold the stem approx. 8 cm below the flower and shake it gently. If the flower no longer wobbles but remains firm and upright, then it is ready to be cut.
• Regularly deadheading spent blooms will prolong the flowering period.
• The flowers will stay fresh for up to 7 days in a vase.
